About The Lost Romance RTW Travel Blog
Hey ya. Thanks for stopping by and being curious about this blog. Let me tell you what made me start this blog.
Life got boring at home doing the same things every day, day and night. And more over my relationship was going through all kinds of messes. I was also feeling that the world has lost it’s classic charm and romance.
I took a cue from the 1700’s and 1800’s when young people were sent on a tour of the world to prepare them for life and hopefully some great things. I decided to backpack across the world. Backpacking fit my budget.
I felt that this form of travel would allow me to really get to know people in different cultures. I would have the chance to see life from the high end of success and the depths of poverty. I felt that this trip would lead me to discover something that would rekindle the spark for living. Also, I needed a perspective that I could not find at home.
My tentative itinerary will take me to South America, North America, Europe, Africa, The Middle East through South Asia, the Far East, South East Asia and end in Australia. I plan to fly back home to India from Australia.
My plans may see several changes, a few delays and some missed opportunities depending on the regulations that each country that I plan to visit may impose on a person with an Indian passport who asks for a visa and a travel permit. I do expect to exercise some caution in the most war torn parts of the world.
The Lost Romance is planned to be a blog of my travels, adventures, and misadventures. I absolutely want my family to know where I am. I want my family to know that I am doing well and what I am doing.
I also want The Lost Romance to tell the world about my travels. Seeing the people that I meet up close and first hand may bring a bit of fellowship back to a world that seems bent on hating more than loving.
I have no defined time frame for my The Lost Romance adventures. I will go where my spirit of adventure takes me. I truly expect this backpack world tour to be the most exciting thing that I have ever done in my life.
The Lost Romance blog is for me and for everyone. I may meet you in my travels and you may be a personal part of this adventure of a lifetime.

[…] Now that you are ready to explore the entire world in one fell swoop, you have to consider more dull aspects such as packing – after all you have to be wise when packing for such a long trip. Packing light means bringing the necessities without overloading yourself. Do you need that extra blanket? Probably not. You will have to leave some creature comforts behind as you get everything you need together for a fantastic trip around our fabulous globe. […]
[…] Often professionals have to leave their home with work assignments for long or short terms leaving the empty house or pets alone at home. They look forward for people who will volunteer to take care of the house (often pets including) during the time of absence. And what is more? You might even get paid for these stays. Be advised house-sitting is best suited for people who travel slowly. In my opinion, to experience a city life and exhaust the array of offerings, one must select a house sitting for one summer break. Quite an experience of a lifetime. […]
